The Perspective Art Exhibition takes place within two framed marquee’s on the Bell Tower lawn opposite the main Administration Building. The Bell Tower tent faces this building and the Churchill Tent runs perpendicular to it. Both are lit well and have as many clear marquee walls as possible. The hanging space per artist comprises two duzi fencing panels bolted together (2.5mx 2m) giving a total surface area of 10m². These panels are then fastened with hessian. Artists are responsible for their own means of hanging works and may use fish gut or hooks (S-hooks). Each Artist has an A4 profile with photograph attached to the panel and a lanyard to identify them. Both tents have a 24 hour guard posted.
The Normand Dunn Gallery, Raymond Slater Library, History Room, and Theatre Foyer Exhibitions have in the past few years either been allocated to a group of Artists working in a collective with similar space to that of the Perspective Exhibition, or to a curated exhibition. As the Festival is still negotiating with possible curated pieces, these venues will only be made available if applicable, from 1st April when applications open.
All Artists may bring a small table and 1 chair to use as a “reception area”. Easels are acceptable, subject to numbers and space available. Should the weather be fair artists are welcome to spill out into the sunshine. Exhibitors of ceramics / pottery/ glass will be provided with tables instead of hanging space. As these are visual art exhibitions no other products may be sold unless prior approval has been given by the Festival organisers.
The weather is totally out of our control and can be unreliable in September! Please come prepared with warm blankets. Please note that the stands in the Perspective Art Exhibition are on grass.
Kindly note that we do not supply extension cords. Please bring your own. The extension cords, multi plugs and fixtures you bring in must be electrically compliant to a legislation safety standard. Below standard equipment will be removed. In the Perspective Marquees, there will be 1 plug point per 2 artists. Each artist may draw up to 500 Watts using their choice of light (1 x flood light; or several LED’s).
