Most Royal, Most Confidential

Shakespeare’s Royals – up close and personal
Shakespeare’s royal family had a curious, thrilling way of talking to themselves – in public. That’s how the playwright revealed to us their innermost thoughts and most human condition. Listening from the audience we are suddenly privy to their states of mind, strategies and even their secret soul.
In Most Royal, most Confidential, Paul Spence invites you to follow the Bard’s royal characters from a wintry castle in Denmark to a blasted heath in Scotland; from the battlefield of Agincourt to the Tower of London, on an unforgettable voyage through some of the greatest speeches ever written. These are spine-tingling soliloquys from Shakespeare’s Royals; Hamlet, Macbeth, Henry the Fifth and Richard the Second.
A member of the Royal Shakespeare Company for seven years, Paul played leading roles in Stratford-upon-Avon and London. He has acted and directed in theatres as far afield as Edinburgh, Belfast, Vienna, Copenhagen and Tokyo.
