Age Restriction: All
Company: Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra
The Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra is proud to present “Joyful Noise”, their annual festive season concert, which will take place at 7pm on Saturday 1 December 2018 at the Hilton College Theatre.
The concert will feature a host of festive favourites, including Leroy Anderson’s unforgettable “Sleigh Ride” and “Christmas Festival”. There will also be several newer items in the Orchestra’s repertoire, the highlight of which being “A Christmas Overture” by British composer Nigel Hess. The piece was originally commissioned by John Rutter, and it cleverly weaves together several ancient traditional carols into one glorious cohesive masterpiece.
The concert is suitable for the whole family, and children under the age of 6 years can watch for free, provided they sidt on a parent’s lap. Tickets are R100 for adults and R80 for pensioners and scholars.
