Christopher Duigan Plays Chopin
Company: Hilton Arts Festival
In the second of two solo piano performance in the Chapel at the Hilton Arts Festival, pianist Christopher Duigan plays an outstanding selection of the music of the Romantic piano poet, Frederic Chopin
(1810-1849).Duigan plays music that highlights the bold, virtuosic and majestic elements of the composer’s music over the more readily expected elegant and atmospheric elements, often seen as typical of Chopin’s compositions. The programme includes ta selection of Etudes, Mazurkas, and Nocturnes and Chopin’s monumental Sonata No 3. Christopher Duigan, a Steinway Artist, has devoted much time to the study and performance of Chopin’s music in his professional career over the last 29 years.
