Home Visual Art SIMON ADDY AND LYN HOYLE

The rich tones of Clarens sandstone cliffs and the wonderful Midlands autumn landscape are both integral to Simon & Lyn’s paintings and their soul.

Simon prefers working in acrylic on board or canvas, experimenting with texture and technique. His landscapes investigate the drama of change, whether by fire, flood, or the ravages of time. His humour surfaces in a variety of cabernet soaked characters enduring various trials in pursuit of their favourite beverage.  He has completed many commissions of farmhouses and personalized 'Cabernet Portraits'.

Lyn’s gorgeous oil on canvas paintings of flower studies & kelims with gold leaf adorn many homes. Her strong treatment of the subject matter, use of colour and brushstroke is reminiscent of the work of Irma Stern.  The symbolic canvasses where fragmented imagery reflects her life experience of home, family and surroundings are a more personal glimpse. While still keeping their gallery in Clarens, Simon & Lyn are happily back in the Midlands. They have been settling in this year and are planning to make their work more accessible to the KZN market again. They can be contacted on 083 259 0934;   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
