Born in Newcastle in 1965, grew up in Howick, KZN Midlands, and currently living in Westville, KZN. Having had a passion for Art ever since I can remember, I have always taken part in some form of art making, and my first oil painting was done when I was 12 years old. Although I chose a career in Architecture and Interior Design I continued my passion for all things artistic. I started selling my art in 2005 and finally in 2010 started enjoying work as a full time artist.I am deeply inspired by my travels around Africa: the vibrant colours and imagery, the chaotic atmosphere and warmth, and the vast open spaces. My work is primarily representative, but imbued with my own sensitivity to colour, emotion, nostalgia and atmosphere. Continuously learning from other artists, I am inspired by the light and ethereal quality of the paintings of Turner, the atmosphere and mystery of James Whistler and the colour and raw emotion of Van Gogh.
